GM and Chrysler: The takeover

March 31st, 2009 No comments

From the New York Post:

General Motors and Chrysler, President Obama yesterday declared, “must ultimately stand on their own, not as wards of the state.”

Yet Obama — by virtually taking charge of the two companies’ economic structure and demanding the ouster of GM Chairman Rick Wagoner as the price of further federal aid — has pretty much made the auto giants “wards of the state.” [AO: What part of “ultimately stand on their own” don’t you understand?]

Because while Wagoner may have earned the blow, over the long haul does America really want its heavy industry run from the Oval Office? [AO: Get this: Obama wants the GM and Chrysler to STAND ON THEIR OWN]

On Foreign Policy: China

March 25th, 2009 No comments

From the New York Post:

All new administrations stumble a bit as they seek their footing. But President Obama’s foreign-policy botches have set new records for instant incompetence. . . . [AO:  Ok. Whatcha got?]

China: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (you know that gal married to the Saudi hireling) crawled to Beijing to tell the party bosses that human rights don’t matter. Our “relationship” is more important than freedom and human dignity.

Beijing’s response? A staged military confrontation with an unarmed US Navy vessel; continued screw-America currency cheating; a renewed crackdown on dissidents and, yesterday, a call for a new global currency to replace the dollar.

Thanks, Hill. You’re a sweetheart. [AO: Let’s assume Hillary had demanded that Beijing demanded an end to Chinese human rights violations, how would this have changed anything? Perhaps your want to suggest if we demand an end to human rights volitions China won’t stage confrontations with US Navy vessels, continue currency cheating, etc.? What naive world do you live in? Why don’t you provide some suggestions? Perhaps you’re thinking that he should lecture China. Tell them to comply or we’ll shock and awe them with our military might. Is that what you have in mind?]

Thumbs up for the Geithner plan. Or perhaps just cautious optimism. No, there are questions. In fact, it’s hard to see that the plan is the best way to go! But there is hope.Anger is the new rage.

The Supreme Court should hold that “Hillary: The Movie” falls under federal law restricting the airing of attack ads.
